About the branch

UNISON Housing Association Branch (London)

The branch has a long history of representing members across the social housing field – housing associations, housing trusts, social housing co-ops, supported housing.

UNISON is divided into 12 regions. As a London branch we send delgates to the London Regional Council which meets 3 times a year.

We have over 3,000 members in 150 housing associations throughout Greater London and the South East.

Branch meetings

At the Annual General Meeting (AGM) members can ask questions about the annual report and financial accounts and pass motions on policy. Elections to the branch committee, delegates and representatives to other UNISON committees take place at these meetings.

UNISON has a National Delegate Conference once a year in June to which the branch sends 4 delegates.

The Executive Committee

The committee is responsible for the running of the branch, drawing up the budget, deciding policy & priorities.

The branch

The branch has its own office in Holloway Road, North London.

The branch staff deal with administration, membership records, provide advice and information to members & stewards and help co-ordinate branch activities.

The branch employs caseworkers to advise and represent members and to assist local reps in dealing with member’s case.

The branch has good resources for stewards, employment rights and pay information, publications and copies of workplace agreements from many HA’s.
